ABOUT I.A.T.S.E. LOCAL 118
Since 1904, IATSE Local 118 has represented stagehands at professional theatres in Vancouver. With years (or decades!) of experience behind them, our members are the best in the industry. We cover every department, from lighting technicians to video programmers, carpenters, riggers, and wardrobe, hair, and makeup artists. In each department, we ensure top-notch technique, training, and safety.
Our members have worked on hundreds of award-winning shows with our employers. Some of our favorites include:
- Arts Club Theatre’s Onegin, Les Misérables, Angels in America, and Noises Off
- Ballet BC’s Romeo + Juliet and The Nutcracker
- Gateway Theatre’s Nine Dragons and The Christmas Carol
- Broadway Across Canada’s many, many productions at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, including Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, Waitress, Phantom of the Opera, and more
- LiveNation’s concerts at BC Place and the Pacific Coliseum, featuring artists like Beyoncé, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Coldplay, and U2

In addition to these venues, we provide skilled technical labour to Vancouver Opera, Vancouver Symphony, Ballet BC, and dozens of visiting productions at our civic theatres and arenas.
