Welcome to the IATSE Local 118 website. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, mobile messaging services, and applications (collectively, the “Services”).
By using our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1. Eligibility
By using this website, you represent that:
You are at least 18 years old, or an emancipated minor, or have legal parental/guardian consent.
In all cases, you are over the age of 13. This site is not intended for children under 13.
Your use of the Services complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
2. Your Use of the Services
IATSE Local 118 grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to access the Services for personal or internal union-related use, provided you comply with the following restrictions:

No Commercial Solicitation: You may not use the website for unauthorized commercial purposes or transmit unsolicited advertising (spam).

Automated Access: Use of "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers" is prohibited if they send more requests to our servers than a human could reasonably produce in a standard browser. Public search engines are granted an exception for the sole purpose of creating searchable indices.
Respectful Conduct: You may not use the Services to harass, threaten, or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or otherwise objectionable as determined by IATSE Local 118.

User Content License: You retain ownership of content you post (e.g., blog comments). However, by posting, you grant IATSE Local 118 a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, and sub-licensable license to use, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with union operations and promotions.

4. IATSE Local 118 Content
All original content, including text, logos, graphics, and software, is owned by or licensed to IATSE Local 118.
Personal Use: You may print or download materials for personal, non-commercial use related to the union’s purposes.
Third-Party Links: Our site may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these third parties.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IATSE LOCAL 118 DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SITE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR CONTINUOUSLY AVAILABLE.
6. Limitation of Liability
IATSE LOCAL 118 AND ITS REPRESENTATIVES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM:
Errors or inaccuracies in content.
Personal injury or property damage resulting from your use of the site.
Unauthorized access to our secure servers or personal information.
Bugs, viruses, or malware transmitted by third parties.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless IATSE Local 118 and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or legal fees arising from your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
8. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada.
Jurisdiction: Any legal action must be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction in British Columbia.
Statute of Limitations: You agree that any claim related to the Services must be filed within one (1) year after the cause of action arises, or it is permanently barred.
9. Modifications
IATSE Local 118 reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will post the "Effective Date" of any changes. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
